Call for Papers
In preparing for this 23rd annual convening, we are keeping with the tradition of past conferences by encouraging a variety of types of presentations, panels, and workshops that advance data-driven knowledge and conversation to improve qualitative and quantitative approaches to conceptual design, methodologies, analyses and interpretation of results in nonprofit scholarship. This annual convening brings faculty, graduate students and researchers who study the nonprofit sector together to share and receive constructive feedback on both completed research and works in progress.
The conference can also provide support for doctoral students who present their work and ideas, by offering an opportunity to receive critical perspectives on their research in a supportive and collegial atmosphere. Individuals wishing to submit ideas may consider the following formats:
1. Research presentation proposals. Traditional nonprofit research papers will be accepted for presentation and selected primarily by the quality and novelty of the data and methodologies employed. In keeping with the overall topic of the conference, preference will be for nonprofit data and methods. Papers that utilize novel research designs and methods are encouraged. We seek a diverse range of data methods and topics. Works in progress (from research design to papers in progress that seek input before completion) are also welcomed.
2. Research panel proposals. Panel proposals should include a description of the panel, including a list of panel presenters and the titles of their presentations.
3. Nonprofit data collaboration proposals. We welcome proposals for presentation of large-scale, inter-collegiate research efforts. Include a description of the proposed session and opportunity for collaboration.
4. Methodology and pedagogy workshop proposals. We welcome proposals from those who have informed insights about data and methodology to advance teaching in the nonprofit education field (and beyond). The discussion of new methods or methodologies that are less commonly used among nonprofit scholars is valued at this conference.
Proposals are due by February 25, 2026. All submissions require an abstract of no more than 350 words. Applicants may submit multiple proposals. Notification of acceptance will be sent in mid-March.
